Williamsburg Academy announced our 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year in both lower and high school this week. Congratulations to Rebekah Sanders and Michael Newell. Rebekah Sanders, Lower School Teacher of the Year, is a graduate of North Greenville University. This is her second-year teaching at WA. She, along with her husband Jacob, is a part of Just Say Jesus Ministries. Until recently, they spent their summers leading Bible schools across the state. She is passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with children. Her favorite subjects to teach are math and Bible. Michael Newell, High School Teacher of the Year is a graduate of Williamsburg Academy. He continued his education at the University of South Carolina and graduated in 2010. He is in his seventh year at WA, and we are honored to have him as a part of our faculty. A few of his favorite things about WA are the family atmosphere, the way everybody knows everybody, and the sense of pride he feels everyday he comes back. He teaches senior boys life skills, lower school physical education, and 8th grade history. Congratulations again to our 2020-2021 Lower and High School Teacher of the Year.
