The JV football team won their first game of the season 24-8, on Thursday, September 23, 2021. The Colts came out strong getting a stop on defense on a 3 and out drive, then countering with a 46 yard rushing touchdown from Micah Balder. Al Casselman then capped off the drive with a 2 point conversion. The Colts were relentless throughout the whole game getting stop after stop. The Colts next drive was a long one; after a key fourth down conversion Ben Harper finished the drive with a four yard rushing touchdown. Like before, the Colt defense was outstanding forcing multiple turnovers in the first half with interceptions from Carter Copeland and Micah Balder. The Colts still coming on strong had many stops and forced a couple more turnovers. An interception by Seth Shrinko led to a 15 yard passing touchdown from Micah Balder to Ben Harper. Late into the second half, The Colts forced a fumble to ice the game. The last drive, the team ran down the clock and kneeled the ball. Charlie Caulder led the team in tackles with six and the team forced a season high four turnovers. Next week, The Colts are on the road again headed to Pee Dee Academy. They hope to carry the momentum they’ve built up into the next game. Come support our Colts this Thursday as they travel to Pee Dee to face off with the Eagles. Game time is at 6:00!
