Sprinting into Track Season

This year, the Williamsburg Academy Track Team will have a strong field program. Under the supervision of Coach Shelley: Austin Ard, Michael Ard, Tucker Kline, and Aidan Stuckey will participate in shotput and discus. Kenzie Hancock, Billie Ann Patrick, Iva Grace Wilson, Anna Brown, and Rebecca Holladay will compete in the female division. We are proud to announce that we received a very generous donation providing us with concrete pads for the players to practice on. This is an excellent opportunity for our track and field program to grow.

Running events include the following: 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1600 meters, 3200 meters, 4×100 meter relay, 4×400 meter relay, 4×800 meter relay, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles.
The female runners on the track team are Gracie Graham 12th, Sarah Kensley Kellahan 12th, Iva Grace Wilson 12th, Glorianna Flinchum 11th, Jenna Kate Burgess 11th, Abby Cox 11th, Sydney Floyd 11th, Josie Tisdale 10th, Amelia Floyd 9th, Sophie Kellahan 8th, Hannah Hall 8th
The male runners on the track team are Hardy Brown 12th, Mitchell Floyd 12th, Caleb Kline 12th, Luke Cowley 11th, Teague Ward 10th, Camden Moore 10th, Kam Morris 10th, Billy Godwin 10th, Matthew Stone 10th, William Caulder 9th, Micah Balder 8th, Kaydn Cooper 7th, Jackson Perkins 7th.

The Williamsburg Academy Track and Field traveled to Orangeburg Prep on Thursday, March 17th for their first meet of the year. Micah Balder won first place as an 8th grader to earn 10 points throwing a 109-11. William Caulder, a freshman, placed fifth earning 2 points with a 87-07. In discus, Junior Austin Ard earned second place earning 8 points throwing a 101-4. Billie Ann Patrick, a senior, placed fifth earning two points with a 68-10 in discus. Unfortunately, the Stallions didn’t get to participate in the shot put because of inclement weather conditions. The field team will be participating in shot put, javelin, and discus at Sumter High School March 23rd beginning at 3:45 P.M.

William Caulder won first place to earn 10 points in the 3200 m. run breaking his own school record. Jenna Kate Burgess, Hannah Hall, Glorianna Flinchum, Josie Tisdale placed third earning 6 points in the 4×800 Meter Relay. Kaydn Cooper, Billy Godwin, Matthew Stone, and Hardy Brown placed fourth earning 4 points in the 4×800 Meter Relay. Abby Cox placed third to earn 6 points in the 100 meter hurdles. Amelia Floyd placed fourth to earn 4 points in the 100 meter hurdles. Mitchell Floyd won first place to earn 10 points in the 110 meter hurdles. He also broke his own school record. Camden Moore placed fourth to earn 4 points in the 100m dash. Hardy Brown placed fifth to earn 2 points in the 1600m run. Camden Moore, Kam Morris, Teague Ward, Caleb Kline placed second to earn 8 points in the 4×100 meter relay. Teague Ward placed third to earn 6 points in the 800m run. William Caulder placed sixth to earn 1 point in the 800m run. Abby Cox placed fourth to earn 4 points in the 400 meter hurdles. Amelia Floyd placed fifth to earn 2 points in the 400 meter hurdles. Micah Balder won first place to earn 10 points in the 400 meter hurdles. Kam Morris placed fourth to earn 4 points in the 400 meter hurdles. Mitchell Floyd placed third to earn 6 points in the 400m race. Sarah Kensley Kellahan, Abby Cox, Hannah Hall, and Glorianna Flinchum placed second to earn 8 points in the 4×400 meter relay. Mitchell Floyd, Teague Ward, Luke Cowley, and Kam Morris won first place to earn 10 points in the 4×400 hurdles.
