Williamsburg Academy is honoring our alumni. Each week we will be spotlighting a new alumnus. This week we have chosen Mrs. Cherryl Ann Smith. Mrs. Smith grew up in Kingstree, South Carolina. She is a 2000 graduate of Williamsburg Academy. After high school, she attended Columbia College for a year before deciding to pursue her dream and attend cosmetology school. She went to Betty Stevens Cosmetology Institute and graduated from there in 2003. She began her career working at Becky’s Styling Salon in Lake City, South Carolina, where she says she learned everything she knows about this profession. After 8 years of working there, she and her family moved to Pawleys Island where she also had another opportunity to work with a great salon that she said taught her many tricks of the trade. They resided there for almost 3 years before moving back to Kingstree where she had the opportunity to open her own salon, Cherryl Ann’s Salon. It has been open for 7 years, and they have recently expanded. They have 3 stylists and offer so many things to fit your needs. She says, “I have been blessed with the best clientele and I’m so thankful for all of the support!” She currently lives in Kingstree, South Carolina, with her husband Jamie Smith and her two kids Sydney Ann, also a WA alumnus, and Wes Smith, who is a sophomore at Williamsburg Academy. Stay tuned as we continue to seek and honor a new alumnus each week.
