Each week we are honoring our alumni. This week we are spotlighting Kathryn Hutton Couch from the class of 2008. Kathryn grew up in Greeleyville, South Carolina. During high school, she worked at the Cabbage Patch in Kingstree, SC. After high school, she attended the University of South Carolina where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in retail and a minor in fashion merchandising. While she was at college, she worked at Pink Sorbet in Columbia from 2008 until she graduated college in 2013. After graduation, she worked for Lilly Pulitzer from 2013 until 2014 when she opened her first store, Pink Stable, in Camden, SC. She purchased her second store, Evelyn’s Bridal in Lugoff, SC in 2018. This year she purchased her third store, Brother and Sissy Children’s Shop.
Kathryn received the S.C. SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the US Senate Small Business Award in 2019. She currently resides in Camden, SC with her husband Graham, daughter Charlotte, and their dog Sam. She is currently on the Kershaw County Young Professionals Committee and a member of Camden First Baptists. She says that her family is by far her greatest achievement.
