Each week we seek to recognize and honor our alumni. This week, we recognize our ‘89 graduate, Gordon Lesesne Wilson. His parents are originally from Kingstree, but he grew up all around the United States and Germany as a kid because of his dad being in the Army. They moved back to Kingstree in 1987 for his Junior and Senior year at Williamsburg Academy. His grandmother, Clemmie Wilson, was one of the first teachers at Williamsburg Academy. After graduation, he attended Texas A&M University. Gordon graduated from A&M in 1993 with a degree in Industrial Distribution. He then was commissioned into the army as an Armor Officer right after graduating college. His deployments include: Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. He retired from Active Duty in 2019 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Gordon now works for the U.S. Army Futures Command in College Station, Texas working closely with Texas A&M on research and development projects for Army modernization. He and his wife Melissa have two kids. Gordy is a Junior at Texas A&M and Lauren is a Freshman there. He says, “I am thankful that I got to spend my last two years at WA and miss my Kingstree friends, classmates, and Brown’s BBQ!” Congratulations Gordon on being chosen as this week’s Where Are They Now and thank you for your service. Your WA family is very proud of you. Once a Stallion always a Stallion. Stay tuned as we seek to honor a new alumnus each week.
