On September 12, our JV football team traveled to Florence to play their season opener against Florence Christian Eagles. Our boys brought home their first win of the season. Conrad Balder, quarterback, led the team with a total of 143 rushing yards, with Camden Moore coming in second. Moore also had a 94 yard kickoff return, scoring his first touchdown of the game. Conrad Balder also started the season off with a bang, by scoring three consecutive touchdowns. Adding more points to the board was Teague Ward, scoring two 2-point conversions. Landon Eaddy also had a great offensive catch, and according to the coach, the offensive line blocked extremely well.
As for our defense, Teague Ward led the team with 11 tackles. As for other leading tacklers, JD Sholar had a total of six, and Micah Balder and Wes Smith both tied with two. One of Wes Smith’s two tackles was a tackle to save one of Conrad Balder’s touchdowns. Our stallion defense had several tackles for loss. Number 13, Greyson Moore, led the team in receptions. As a tam, BJ Davis had a lockdown defense. The next game is Thursday, September 19th at 6:00 at home against Thomas Sumter.
