Where Are They Now?

As we kick off a new year we are excited to spotlight our alumni. This week’s alumni spotlight falls on WA alumnus, Whitney McGee. Whitney treasures the time she spent at WA dearly. She was born and raised in Kingstree, South Carolina. She started school at WA in 1990. While at WA, Whitney was involved in many sports and clubs. She played on the volleyball, basketball, and softball teams. She also was a member of the National Honor Society, FCA, Pep Club, and Leo Club. She was a May Court attendant in 9th and 11th grade. During her senior year she was crowned homecoming queen and was voted Most Athletic. She was a Wendy’s Heisman Scholarship Nominee and a winner of the Scholastic Award. After graduation, she attended Francis Marion University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2006. In 2012, she decided to start her business, The Paisley Pearl. It started out small, but in 2013, she was ready to open her first location. In 2015, it was moved to Academy St. in Kingstree, where it still is today. She wanted to start something special in her hometown, and she did just that! She currently lives in Lake City with her husband and two children. Her son, Hudson is in the 4th grade at WA, and her daughter Anniston will attend in 4K next year. Whitney is a member of the WA Development Foundation. The WA family and Kingstree community love both Whitney and The Paisley Pearl.
